These washable, cloth masks are lovingly made by Couture la Grâce de Dieu (Sewing God’s Grace) in Lomé, Togo. For every mask SEED buys, we also donate funds to help the sewing center in Lomé, Togo, donate one more in their community. (They’ve been making masks for their own community ever since the coronavirus entered Togo.)

Description

The sewing center started creating masks early in the coronavirus pandemic. This has been especially helpful because everyone who goes to the market in Lomé needs to wear a mask. The sewing center is a hub for the community, where many people come to have their clothes made, tailored, or fixed. Many people also come simply to be known and loved.

Thanks to SEED donors, this sewing center recently expanded their capacities to help train girls who have finished their ICCM-sponsored schools. Their learning how to sew includes helping the rest of the people in the sewing center make these masks.

These masks are version 1.0 and they are part of a sewing training program.  If your mask doesn’t work well for you, just email us at orders@seedlivelihood.org and we will replace it with a new one.
