The Dayanand Hand Loom Group cares for this generation (hopefully the last) suffering from Hansen’s Disease. They are cured, but suffer permanent disabilities because of the damage done. They are also keeping alive the ancient art form of hand loom weaving. Hand loom weaving requires mercerized yarn, done for them with 1000 pounds of yarn minimum. This process greatly increases the strength of the threads, and therefore the quality of their handwoven goods.
